Getting started

Before you start using the API, you’ll need an API Key. Register to request one.

To understand what the API can do, see the full API documentation.

Want to try a demo project? Try the simple Google Maps demo.

Once you have your API key, read on below to connect to the API for the first time.

Try the interactive Console. Select an action, press 'Switch to Console', click the Headers tab, paste your API key in the relevant box, change 'Mock server' to 'Production' then press 'Try' to send the request.

To connect via the command line, you can authenticate by providing your secret API key in the query string or request headers.

Example request using query string

curl ''

Example request using request header

curl -H 'X-Api-Key: YOUR_KEY_HERE'

Take note of the single quote marks, missing them will result in a 401 Unauthorized response.

401 Unauthorised. Check your API key.
404 File not found. Check the URL is correct. Check the item code exists.
